WHERE TO USE
\nOn cementitious screeds, which are not subject to rising
\ndamp, but have a residual humidity content higher than
\nthe British Standards recommended 75% R.H. (BS8203)
\nfor laying resilient and wood flooring.
\nSome application examples
\n\u2022 Consolidating cementitious screeds which are
\nmechanically weak.
\n\u2022 Prior to laying wooden flooring, to prevent a failure
\ndue to excessive residual moisture in the cementitious
\nscreed.
\nTECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
\nMapeproof 1K Turbo is a one-component polyurethane
\nprimer which hardens due to the humidity present in the
\nsurrounding air and in the screed.
\nMapeproof 1K Turbo is characterised by its short
\nset to light foot traffic period and that it quickly loses
\ntackiness, so that wood flooring may be laid after a
\nvery short time (after approximately 2 hours in normal
\nconditions of temperature and humidity).
\nMapeproof 1K Turbo does not contain solvents, is
\nodourless and is non-flammable.
\nMapeproof 1K Turbo has a very low emission level
\nof volatile organic compounds (EMICODE EC1 R Plus).
\nBecause of the total absence of solvents and odour,
\nMapeproof 1K Turbo may also be used on sites which
\nare located close to inhabited areas (such as flats,
\nschools, offices, etc.).
\nAfter application and rapid curing of the resin, the
\nsubstrate treated with Mapeproof 1K Turbo becomes
\nmore consistent, harder and is resistant to abrasion.
\nRECOMMENDATIONS
\n\u2022 Do not dilute Mapeproof 1K Turbo with water
\nor solvent.
\n\u2022 Do not apply below +5\u00b0C.
\n\u2022 Do not apply Mapeproof 1K Turbo on wet surfaces
\nor in the presence of rising damp.
\n\u2022 If a smoothing and levelling compound has to be
\napplied, or if the wood is to be laid after more than 24
\nhours, apply Mapeproof 1K Turbo so that a thin layer
\nremains on the surface. Completely saturate this layer
\nwith Quartz 1.2 while is still fresh.
\n\u2022 Do not apply Mapeproof 1K Turbo onto heated
\nscreeds as a vapour membrane. It is suitable as
\nconsolidor only.
\n\u2022 Do not apply Mapeproof 1K Turbo so that it puddles
\non the surface of the substrate.
\n\u2022 The installation of wooden flooring on substrates
\ntreated with Mapeproof 1K Turbo must be carried
\nout using a reactive polyurethane adhesive (such as
\nUltrabond P990 1K or Ultrabond Eco P992 1K), an
\nepoxy-polyurethane adhesive (such as Lignobond
\nor Ultrabond P902 2K) or a sililated-based adhesive
